Farmer Deb & Farmer Howard currently have 6 grandchildren ages 5 and under, with a seventh due in a few months, and are called Dusa & G Bear.

Dusa is short for Medusa, and I, think it is the best name in the world!

When kid #4 was born, the first 3 were ages 11, 7 & 5. One afternoon when kid #4 was three years old, I walked into the den and told him it was time for a nap. He was watching Hercules at the time, and nonchalantly responded in a theatrical voice, “NooOoo MEDUSAAA”.

Of course his 10 & 8 year old brothers found this absolutely hysterical, and the name caught on. From that point on, I frequently received a “NooOoo MEDUSA” response when asking any child to do anything. Now anyone in the family text calls me Medusa when they annoyed, and I'm listed as Medusa in their phones. #3 got a Medusa tattoo, and my son in law just calls me as Dusa instead of Deb.

Farmer Howard’s derives from his given family name “Sea Bear".

Farmer Howard is a rather hairy fella. One day at the beach with the family, Farmer Howard was dipping his toes in the water, while the rest of us sat together on a blanket, and Kid #3 took the opportunity to narrate the event for us:

“Here we have the Giant North American Sea Bear fresh from hibernation. Lets watch as he visits the water for the first time this season”,

and thus “the Sea Bear" moniker was born.
